Forensic Investigations Group (FIG) is an independently owned company that is widely respected in the field of fire origin and cause investigations, as well as explosion investigation and analysis. Certified through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), and the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), we serve or have served as officers and educators within many organizations including the International Association of Arson Investigators. Our CEO, Richard Jones, is currently a member of the IAAI Executive Board and has served on the IAAI Training and Education Committee. FIG has provided training and lectures to organizations nationwide. FIG routinely conducts investigations and provides expert deposition and trial testimony in jurisdictions including local, state, and federal courts. The experience and expertise that we possess provides the ability to effectively and persuasively explain the proof of our opinions to a court and jury. We at FIG have consulted and testified on cases involving litigation, which required testing, demonstrations, inspections, review of depositions, and preparation of cases. FIG will coordinate with all interested parties to ensure that the fire scene and evidence are properly and thoroughly analyzed, documented, and preserved according to nationally recognized standards. At FIG, we know promptness is key to a successful investigation. Typically we can have an investigator will respond to the scene of the loss within 72 hours of the receipt of the assignment and the completed investigation report will be submitted into your office within 10 days of the close of the investigation. Mr. Jones has over 21 years of experience in the field of investigations for both the public and the private sectors. He also has prior service and training with local fire districts and the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal, specializing in the field of fire and explosion investigations with the assistance of an accelerant detection canine. Mr. Jones has completed numerous courses related to fire and explosion investigations sponsored by the National Fire Academy, Maine State Police, the International Association of Arson Investigators, and other local organizations. He earned a degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University and is an experienced lecturer on fire and explosion investigations. Mr. Jones has been recognized as an expert witness and has provided testimony on both the state and federal levels. FIG laboratory facility is considered to be one of the best in the Gulf Coast region. Our lab is air conditioned and large enough to accommodate multiple party examinations. Laboratory services include but not limited to x-rays services, microscopes, and ultra-sonic cleaners.
